French Toast Sticks

Serving size: 4-5 servings

  • 6 slices thick organic wheat or gluten free bread

  • 2 eggs

  • ½ cup almond milk

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder

  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder + 2 Tbsp sugar in the raw (for sprinkling onto French toast)

  1. Place large frying pan on stovetop and turn heat to medium-low.

  2. In a medium sized bowl, combine: eggs, almond milk, vanilla extract, and  ½ tsp cinnamon powder. Whisk with fork then set aside.

  3. In a small bowl, combine additional ½ tsp cinnamon powder and 2 Tbsp sugar in the raw.

  4. Next, evenly stack bread on top of each other and slice into stick lengths. I will typically cut thick slices ~4 per piece of bread.

  5. Individually dip bread into milk mixture, then place on frying pan. Repeat process until done; letting bread cook for 3-4 minutes per side or until done.

  6. Once all “sticks” have cooked, use fingers to lightly dust with cinnamon sugar mixture.

  7. Serve immediately and with hot maple syrup.

Make it a meal! These yummy french toast sticks pair PERFECTLY with the cranberry orange smoothie bowl!
