All humor aside, a recent article published by Mind Body Green  lists 10 benefits of moderate exposure to the sun. In addition to Vitamin D, be sure to checkout the gorgeous list of benefits that may come from that sun-kissed afternoon!

Sun-kissed... sounds bronzy, sea-salty, and beach baby, right? Totally summer vibes, and we DIG that here at Blossoming Mommy and Baby, but what happens when that sun-kissed day turns out to be an hour or two too long in the sun? DIY Home remedy time.

Below you'll find my top 4 tips for combatting a sunburn (from home) in a natural and healing manner. Remember, sunburns can vary in severity. The list below contains a few suggestions to help in relief for basic sunburn. Natural DIY + Home Remedies for Sunburn

  1. Aloe Vera- A natural plant that soothes the skin when burned. Keep in mind, this should not be used on severe sunburns.

  2. Cold Compression- Soak a washcloth in cold water and sprinkle lavender essential oil on the cloth to help alleviate the pain.

  3. Hydration- Drink a big, cold glass of water (or coconut water!) for hydration, as sunburns will leave you naturally dehydrated. If you're feeling real fancy, add some fresh lemon + lime for some gorgeous citrus infusion!

  4. Moisturize- Coconut oil to moisturize feels absolutely amazing on the skin, so smooth, so creamy, and so soothing to the irritated and burned area. Splashing a few drops of peppermint essential oil is a great idea if you'd like to implement some aromatherapy!
