Momma, Have You Showered Today?


Happy Motivational Monday, Mommas!

I want to ask you a personal question today (I’m going somewhere with this…. Promise )
Ready? Have you showered today? 

Prior to enrolling in our signature services (Blossom After Baby, G+G, Pregnancy Prep), I frequently see SO MANY WOMEN NEGLECT their own self-care. Showers, clothing, hair, nutrition, workouts, prayer…. it all gets put on the back burner.

Have you fallen victim, Momma? Do you find yourself neglecting self-care because you are “SO BUSY” caring for everybody else?

Here’s the deal.

When you neglect yourself, when your cup is dry,  when your tank is low, when your ZEST for life just isn’t there anymore….. every single person around you gets the short end of the stick (including your children and your husband).

My one simple message for you: You don’t have to do it all and you definitely shouldn’t be neglecting your self care. 

Below I have 8 ways for you to step up your self-care WITHOUT being selfish. I’m not talking 2 hours at the gym, weekly pedicures, GLAM spa days (although let’s admit… that would be FAB). This is just real talk. You, me, a cup of coffee, and YOUR radical self-care as a modern, working Momma.

  1. Shower every day. Yes, even when you DON’T feel like it, I promise you will ALWAYS feel better with a hot shower under your belt first thing (after your workout of course  ) in the morning. Listen in on my “Jenni preach” for showering HERE.

  2. Schedule your workout. Ladies, it is nonnegotiable. You don’t need hours at the gym. Preferably, I would like to see you get your workout in first thing in the morning. Do it before the day slips away on you. If you’re a breastfeeding, baby napping Momma, workout during nap times. My point? Find time and make it work.

  3. Ask for help. You don’t have to do it all. Have you heard the quote “it takes a village to raise a child?” Well, it’s true. And it’s true for you as well. We were meant for relationships. People WANT to help (just like you would help a girlfriend). Release your pride. Ask for HELP.

  4. Find your “glow pockets”. Okay- this term. It’s a term I use inside my books and courses and one that you need to be aware of too! Glow pockets are essential taking mini “breaks” throughout your day to refill your tank. This could be going for a walk, praying, showering, stretching, enjoying a smoothie, laying in the sun…. the list goes on. Point being, find little moments throughout your day. Instead of using that time to scroll, use it to recharge.

  5. Start your day with the bible and prayer. Aint nothing going to go well unless you start and carry on your day with Jesus.

  6. Get out in nature. Remove yourself from technology and from people…. JUST BE.

  7. Make sure your nutrition is on point. Listen in to my “lecture” HERE.

  8. Release your need to be perfect. This goes for your house, your outfits, your kids’ attire…. can we just say your life? You don’t need to work so hard to impress people. Relax. Enjoy the moment. Embrace the beautiful, unpredictable life that we are blessed to be apart of and I PROMISE, you will be MORE ALIVE than ever before
