5 Time Wasters that ALLLL BMAB Women Need To Quit Today:

  1. Stop Scrolling. You knew this one was coming, LOL! But honestly, take a hot second to pause and reflect on HOW MUCH TIME you spend on your phone, tablet, or computer each day… got your answer? If you’re feeling overwhelmed by how much time your spending on your electronics, ask yourself why? What are you getting out of it? Are you addicted to the way it makes you feel? Are you on it when your bored? Are you spending more time in your online world than your physical world? Are you looking for reassurance or compliments from friends, family, or strangers? This is a pretty intense opener but it’s also a pretty intense time waster. Start challenging yourself to set social boundaries with your technology- both for yourself, your husband, and your children!

  2. Stop Procrastinating Your Cleaning. Can I get an AMEN for the laundry that never ends?? So often as Mommas we are left to clean all the things. The dirty floors, the food, the toilets (HEY POTTY TRAINING ;) ).. But here’s the thing Mommas! When you don’t have a gameplan for your cleaning and continue to ignore that laundry (BTW, ignoring the laundry won’t make it go away, in case you were wondering), we’re actually adding MORE WORK to our load. I used to do this. I used to save everything to clean for the weekends and found my saturdays neck deep in scrubbing toilet bowls and folding 10 loads of laundry and then, BAM it was Monday again.. So here’s what I want you to do: Pick one section of your house to clean each day. Courtney, my chief of staff helped me organize this cleaning routine and it has ROCKED my world! You may want to clean your floors on Monday, bathrooms on Tuesday, dusting on Wednesday, etc. THEN, in addition to each section of your house having a designated day, you’re going to do ONE LOAD OF LAUNDRY EACH DAY (wash, dry, fold, put away) AND keep your kitchen clean of dishes. This is a game changer for your time, girls!! (ps- if you need extra help with routines + rhythms in your #momlife, be sure to download a copy of The Blossom After Baby plan here!)

  3. STOP WINGING IT IN THE KITCHEN! Mommas! One of the absolute best things you can do for yourself and your family is to have a GAME PLAN in that kitchen of yours! Imagine spending less time with meal prep, less time with dishes, and LESS TIME making dinner because you actually have a system in play! Girls~this is WHY I created the Abundant Motherhood Club! If you’re stuck with your #kitchenlife, try taking 2-3 hours over the weekend to plan out your meals for the week ahead. Get them on your calendar and go shopping for all your ingredients. If you have time, you can even cut up ingredients as able! Now everytime you hear “Mom, what’s for dinner”, you’ll have an answer!

  4. STOP NOTIFICATIONS! Get your phone out and start disabling all those notifications, girl! Emails, instagram, facebook, pinterest, news apps, and other apps that you use. I highly suggest you only enable notifications from apps that are a necessity like text messages and phone calls. When you minimize distractions, you’ll free up extra time and space in your day!

  5. Stop Mindless Activities. Two things that come to mind: watching TV and online shopping! If you find yourself falling into these two categories (or maybe both at the same time….), it’s time to get intentional with your activities! Instead of filling your time with mindless time passing, let’s get you refocused on your priorities! What can you be doing with your kids? Can you get outside in nature? Take a bath? Paint your toenails? Read a good book? Play a board game? I believe technology is great in moderation but it’s never okay to use as a crutch for your lifestyle. When you can practice being more mindful and present, your meaningful motherhood will begin to take root! And that, my friends is what it’s all about :)

Okay, Mommas! There you have it! Did these time wasters find their way to your heart? Which ones will you be applying to your lifestyle today? Let me know down in the comments or over on Instagram!

XOXO,
Jen
