5 Best Ways to Avoid Weight Gain This Holiday Season

  1. Stick to Your Workout Plan

    • Many times, we women use the holidays as an excuse to "let ourselves go". We fall victim of the January first mentality, stating "I'll start my diet then......" Ladies, does this ring a bell? Did you also know that gyms are most popular come the new year, then slowly start to die off when "resolutions" fade? Hear my heart. It's important for you to stay consistent (or as consistent as possible) with your regular fitness routine. Even with holiday parties, Christmas plays, family gatherings, and more.... get up a little earlier and FIT IT IN. No excuses, Mom! Below you'll find a few of my favorites in the fitness world! Use them + enjoy them!

  2. Gobble Before You Go!

    • A classic tip I always recommend to my clients and one that will help you ROCK your self-control! It's as simple as this: Before you head out to a Holiday or Office party, nourish on a nutrient dense snack rich in fiber, protein, and healthy fats. Ideas include but are not limited to:

  3. Don't "Store Up" Calories.

    • A common trend I see many women (and ladies... I've been guilty of this too!) engage in is "saving or storing up" calories for a high caloric meal. This is an unhealthy cycle and will most likely lead to you overindulging later on in the day. Instead, opt for moderation. Stay well balanced and nourished throughout your day and ENJOY a special treat at night. It's important to enjoy this holiday season, just don't overdo it.

  4. Learn to say NO!

    • Okay, so you're at the party.... sister friend, you don't have to say YES to every treat offered. Like I've said before, enjoy but don't overindulge! It's okay to polity say no if you don't feel like a glass of eggnog or a piece of fudge. It's your body and YOUR the one who is in control of what you put in.

  5. Bring Your Own Dish and Watch Out for Sneaky Add-Ins

    • When invited to a party, bring a healthy dish! You may even be surprised how popular a DELISH salad or fruit platter is!

    • Calories can add up quickly in the dishes below. Make sure you're making wise choices and sister... remember to RELAX + ENJOY!

      • Alcohol

      • White/Cream Sauces

      • Desserts

      • Drinks

      • Meat + Cheese Trays

'Tis the season, my friends! Here's to you and your health! Let's BLOSSOM :-)

Ho-Ho-Ho!
