5 Beautiful Health Benefits of Sleep

Is there really such a thing as beauty sleep? You'll have to read below to find out! (I think you're going to LOVE the answer!) Today I'll be discussing some of the beauty benefits of sleep, something we cannot live without, yet something our society continually pushes towards the back burner. According to the CDC, insufficient sleep is actually considered a public health problem. Yikes. You can read more on that article and current statistics HERE. Now, onto today's teaching!

5 Beautiful Health Benefits of Sleep!

  1. Enhanced Complexion: When we sleep, our body restores and repairs itself on a cellular level. Old cells and old skin are replaced with new collagen, and fresh, vibrant energy. This surge of restoration will define itself through your skin, hair, eyes, and nails. Gorgeous, right? Say goodbye to dark, dull, and dry skin and HELLO to a beautiful radiance! It really is true... Beauty Sleep is totally a thing :)

  2. Serious GLOW factor: You know we're all about the GLOW here at Blossom To Be Fit, but did you know that sleeping can actually help you in achieving that GLOW? It's true! A good 8 hours a night can help with enhancing a vibrant, luscious, and gorgeous vibe that truly radiates from the inside, out. You know we're all about internal beauty here, gals... and sleep is going to be your first line of defense in achieving that radiance!

  3. Bye-Bye Dark Circles: This may be a no-brainier, but, getting a good night's rest decreases the puffiness, dark circles, and wrinkle lines around your eyes.

  4. Sleep is a natural way for the body to repair itself: Whether your immune system is down, your energy is low, or your stressed, the body's natural recovery and repair time is when you are snoozing. During this time, the body is able to recharge and heal itself, decrease inflammation, and helps the body to maintain a homeostatic balance. Sleeping allows your "engine" to restore and your good cells to fight and get stronger.

  5. Mental Clarity: Ever wake up feeling foggy, scattered, or discombobulated? If you're not getting the recommended amount of sleep, your cognition and mental clarity will be less clear, less focused, and less productive than a good night's rest. Whether you're taking a big test, heading to work, or staying home, sleep is a key factor in staying alert, creative, and awake throughout the day.

Alright gals, there you have it! My top 5 BEAUTIFUL Reasons for getting at least 8 hours of sleep every night. Sleep is usually the first to go (as women, this is especially true!), but it's important for us to make sleep at the top of our list. When we're clear on this, we can better take care of ourselves and our family. Promise me you'll make sleep a priority in your life and in your children's life, okay?

Good!

Now go catch those zzzzz's, sister!

xoxo
