10 Healthy Snack Ideas for Kids

Healthy snacks for your kiddos can be fun, tasty, healthy, and easy! All it takes is a little creativity and prep work and you'll be stocked full of yummy, nutritious treats in no time. Print out the list below, hit the grocery store, and get busy in the kitchen! Remember, you are laying the foundation for child(ren)'s health. Smart, healthy choices begins with you!

10 Snack Ideas for Kids

  1. Apple and Almond Butter: Slice apples, spread a thin layer of almond butter over the surface and top with your favorite toppings including but not limited to: coconut flakes, chia seeds, chocolate chips, raisins, banana, and more!

  2. Ants on a Log: Cut celery into snack size pieces. Fill insides with almond butter and top with raisins (err, I mean ants :) ).

  3. DIY trail mix: Mix and match your own trail mix by adding a variety of raw nuts, dried unseated fruit, seeds, and organic chocolate. Check your local bulk section for the best "bang for your buck" options!

  4. Homemade Granola bars: Create healthy, homemade granola bars for the week. Search "granola bars" on our site for a list of our top recipes!

  5. Smoothie Batch: Batch smoothies for the week by pre-portioning and cutting a variety of fruits and vegetables. All you'll need to do during the week is grab a bag, add liquid, blend, and go! For my top smoothie recipes, click here.

  6. Baked sweet potato fries: Yum. Slice and cut sweet potatoes. Drizzle w/ olive oil, salt, pepper, and granulated garlic. Bake on greased baking sheet at 375 (flipping twice) for 30-40 minutes.

  7. Sliced fruits and vegetables: No directions here! Just cut, arrange, and munch away!

  8. Non-sugar drinks: Nix the soda, diet drinks, sports drinks, and juices. Opt for organic juice with low sugar and water.

  9. Organic Hummus + Pita chips: One of our family favorites! Costco has a great deal for hummus and pita chips. Buy in bulk, serve, display, and enjoy!

  10. Avocado Toast: Mash 1 avocado, 1/2 lemon (juice only), red pepper flakes, salt, pepper. Gently spread over gluten free toast or a gluten free wrap. Top with your favorite vegetables (or those you have at home!) *You can see my choice of toppings below!*
